KEVIN SACH (Partner) is the founding partner of Sach Solicitors, which he set up in 1999 and has a long established reputation based on quality service, as well as a wide range of expertise. Prior to this he was a partner at City firm Hill Taylor Dickinson for 7 years having qualified with that firm in 1986. Kevin specialises in all aspects of shipping and marine insurance litigation including charterparties, bills of lading, cargo claims, sale and purchase disputes as well as collision and salvage claims and insurance coverage issues. Kevin's clients include ship owners as well as a number of the leading P&I Associations and insurance companies, ship managers, shipyards, brokers and overseas law firms. Kevin is fluent in French and German having obtained a joint honours degree in both at Oxford University.

LAURENCE McFADYEN (Partner) was a partner for five years at City firm Holmes Hardingham before joining Lester Aldridge in Southampton as part of their specialist shipping team, LA Marine. He joined Sach Solicitors in July 2002. He acts principally for ship owners, managers, their insurers and P&I Associations in relation to collision, salvage, cargo claims, charterparty and bill of lading disputes. Before qualifying as a solicitor, Laurence had 14 years seagoing experience as a deck officer serving on a variety of ship types. Deep sea, he was with Ocean Fleets and spent his final years in the North Sea on offshore supply and anchor handlers. After obtaining a First Class Honours degree in Nautical Studies, specialising in naval architecture, he worked as a claims executive with the West of England P&I Association. Laurence also spent nearly three years on secondment with Skuld in Norway. Laurence is a supporting member of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA).

RUSSELL CRUMPLIN (Partner) qualified in 1993 and was an assistant solicitor at Constant & Constant, Norton Rose and Barlow Lyde & Gilbert before becoming a partner at Thomas Cooper & Stibbard. Russell joined Sach Solicitors in September 2006 and specialises in all aspects of shipping, international trade/commodities and marine insurance disputes, regularly advising shipowners, charterers, traders, P&I Clubs and underwriters alike. Russell has been noted as “recommended” in the Legal Business Legal Experts publication. Russell lectures regularly both in the UK and overseas on various maritime issues. He graduated from Manchester University with a Law/French degree and speaks fluent French.

MICHAEL CHANOUZAS (Paralegal) has worked with the firm since September 2004, having started whilst reading law at the University of Westminster. Michael also has a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology from Leeds University, which contributes to his understanding of cargo contamination claims. He assists with the daily workload of the firm, being involved in charterparty disputes, cargo shortage/contamination claims, bill of lading disputes and anti-suit injunctions. In addition, Michael also assists with international arbitrations and was involved in the MSC NAPOLI casualty. Michael has gained experience in sale and purchase, working with Intermodal Shipbrokers of Athens. He is familiar with Asian cultures having lived in Korea. He is fluent in English, his mother tongue being Greek.
